New York Rangers defenseman John Moore was ejected after delivering a huge hit to the upper body of Montreal Canadiens forward Dale Weise in the third period of Tuesday night’s Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals.
Montreal did not score on the ensuing five-minute power play.
The hit happened just after the Rangers had failed to capitalize on a power play, and it could result in Moore being suspended for one or more games. Habs forward Brandon Prust was suspended two games for a similar hit on Rangers forward Derek Stepan in Game 3 of the series.
