The 26-year-old left winger hurt his left wrist in Game 7 of Boston’s second-round series against the Montreal Canadiens and needed offseason surgery. B’s head coach Claude Julien said Friday that Lucic was a “possibility” for Saturday’s game at Joe Louis Arena.

Lucic has been slowly building the strength in his wrist back to 100 percent during training camp, and said after Sunday’s practice at Ristuccia Arena that he didn’t want to come back too soon and have any setbacks.

Lucic tallied 59 points (24 goals, 35 assists) in 80 regular-season games, and posted seven points (four goals, three assists) in 12 games during the 2014 playoffs.

The Bruins are 1-2 through three preseason games. They lost 3-2 to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, defeated the Washington Capitals 2-0 on Wednesday, then lost 5-4 in overtime to the Capitals on Friday.
