Larry Donnell Benched Himself In Fantasy Football, Lost His Matchup

If you started Larry Donnell on your fantasy football team this week, there’s a good chance you racked up enough points to win your matchup.

The New York Giants tight end had seven catches for 54 yards and a whopping three touchdowns in his breakout performance against the Washington Redskins on Thursday night.

But one guy who didn’t start Larry Donnell was … Larry Donnell.

Donnell benched himself in favor of San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and ended up losing his matchup by 15 points.

?Would?ve won if I played me,? Donnell told The Record’s Art Stapleton on Wednesday. ?During the game, I?m like, ?Really?? That?s the honest truth.?

Donnell won’t make that mistake again, though. Stapleton asked the 25-year-old if he earned a spot on his own starting roster when the Giants face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

?Oh yeah,? Donnell said. ?I?m in there.?
