Tom Brady, Stevan RidleyThe New England Patriots will have a little added motivation for the rest of the season.

New England rolled to a big win Sunday in Buffalo, but it may have come at a price. Linebacker Jerod Mayo and running back Stevan Ridley are feared out for the season with injuries.

Quarterback Tom Brady says the Patriots will have to find a way to move on without those important players, but they’ll be playing for their injured teammates, too.

“So we’re just going to need to overcome it this year,” Brady said Monday morning on WEEI radio. “And the guys that step in and play have to go out there and do the best they can do. Everyone else has to rally around, and you’ve got to pick up your level of play, ’cause there’s a certain level of play that’s fallen off when you lose the best players on your team.

“We love those guys, we play for those guys, we win for those guys, the guys that don’t have the opportunity to be out there with us. Those are our brothers. We work with those guys. Nobody works harder than Jerod and Stevan. Nobody loves the team and football more than those two guys. We’re going to go out there and play our best for them.”

The Patriots also don’t have much time to fret about the injuries. They’re on a short week, as they’ll take on the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.
