ESPN can breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Bill Simmons and Mike Golic traded shots Thursday in a weird feud that spilled over into social media. The beef apparently has been squashed, though, as Golic sent the following tweet hours after tensions ran high.

The debacle started when Golic, a co-host on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike,” criticized Simmons’ remark that LeBron James’ current situation with the Cleveland Cavaliers is reminiscent of Albert Pujols struggling upon joining the Los Angeles Angels. Golic accused Simmons of being a headline-grabber, which didn’t sit well with the columnist, who proceeded to go bananas on Twitter.

Golic said Friday morning he “worked things out” with Simmons, according to USA TODAY’s For The Win blog. He also acknowledged he was wrong for taking Simmons’ comments out of context. Golic’s co-host, Mike Greenberg, reportedly called Simmons to apologize.

So yes, the dispute is over. And not a moment too soon.
