Corey Perry, Tyler Seguin, Sidney Crosby Named NHL ‘Stars Of The Month’

Corey PerryThe first edition of the NHL’s “Stars of the Month” features some familiar names.

Former Boston Bruins winger Tyler Seguin was named the No. 3 star for October. He tallied 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 10 games for the Dallas Stars.

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby, no stranger to these lists, was the No. 2 star after sharing the league lead in scoring with Seguin. The reigning Hart Trophy winner posted 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in nine games.

Crosby led the league in scoring during the 2013-14 campaign.

Anaheim Ducks right winger and 2011 Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry was named the No. 1 star. He led the league with 10 goals scored and tied for second in scoring with 14 points. Perry scored in six of Anaheim’s 12 October games and recorded two hat tricks, one on opening night against the Pittsburgh Penguins and the other against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 22.
