BOSTON — The Bruins will be without two top-six forwards Monday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Center Patrice Bergeron and left winger Milan Lucic won’t play because of undisclosed injuries, per Bruins head coach Claude Julien. He added that both players remain “day-to-day.”

Bergeron has been one of Boston’s better players over the last two weeks with two goals and five assists in the last six games. He also is among the NHL leaders in puck possession with a Corsi-for percentage of 60.68 at even strength, which leads the team. Bergeron is the Bruins’ best faceoff man, too.

Lucic has two assists in the last three games and provides a physical presence that the Bruins as a team have lacked throughout the season.

This will be the first game that either player has missed in 2014-15.
