Paul Pierce’s Boston Celtics career is over, but the truth is, The Truth can’t quit Boston.

Pierce’s love affair with the city he called home for the first 15 seasons of his NBA career has only strengthened after Pierce and Kevin Garnett were traded to the Brookyln Nets prior to the 2013-14 season.

The longtime C’s swingman now calls Washington, D.C. home, and he and the Wizards will invade Boston on Sunday. To say Pierce is excited would be an understatement.

Pierce was revealed as the latest contributing editor for The Players’ Tribune — the website Derek Jeter helped start for athletes to speak their mind — and Pierce’s first role on the site comes in form of a video.

This is far from the Pierce’s first public display of affection for Boston. Pierce returned to the city in October for Jeter’s final game at Fenway Park (which appears to be when he filmed the video) and wore Celtics gear during the ceremony. Pierce then said in November that he regretted going to Brooklyn and admitted he “could have just stayed in Boston.”
