It’s time for Adam Jones to pay up.
The Baltimore Orioles outfielder found himself on the losing end of a Twitter bet Saturday over the AFC divisional-round matchup between his Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots. Now, Jones owes $5,000 to the charity of Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz.
Jones spent a good part of Saturday desperately searching for a member of the Red Sox to wager with. Not only did he issue a challenge to Ortiz, but he also opened up the challenge to Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia and just about any other Red Sox player who might be interested.

Finally, Ortiz accepted.

Shortly before kickoff, Jones unveiled the stipulations.

Then, of course, the Patriots came from behind for a thrilling 35-31 win.

Jones, ever gracious in defeat, said he’ll be ready to pay up his end of the deal.

Thus ends Jones’ Twitter bet winning streak at one. He won a bet last week with Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen after the Ravens eliminated the Steelers in the wild-card round.
