Dustin Byfuglien made Marshawn Lynch proud Tuesday.

The Winnipeg Jets again were victims of a fast and furious Anaheim Ducks rally Monday night, eventually falling 5-4 in overtime. The win put the Ducks ahead 3-0 in the first-round Stanley Cup playoff series, pushing the Jets to the brink of elimination. That didn’t exactly leave Byfuglien in the most talkative of moods the following day, but it did put him in a Lynch-esque mood.

The Jets defenseman responded to every question Tuesday morning with the same answer:”As long as we stick together as a team, we’ll be all right.”

It’s no “I’m just here so I won’t get fined,” but we have a feeling Lynch is a fan of Byfuglien’s response.

The 30-year-old blueliner has had a slow start to the series, failing to record a point. He also laid one heck of a cheap shot on Corey Perry following the Ducks star’s goal Monday, resulting in a two-minute minor.

But, hey, as long as they stick together as a team, the Jets will be just fine.
