FOXBORO, Mass. — Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t want to get into the particulars of his workout with Julian Edelman in Los Angeles, but the wide receiver was happy to oblige.
Garoppolo was briefly featured in Edelman’s California training montage.
“You know, we had a couple guys out there in California, and we were just playing catch and throwing,” Edelman said Friday after new England Patriots organized team activities. “There’s plenty of guys out there. We had (Buffalo Bills quarterback Matt) Cassel out there, we had JB (Josh Boyce) out there. We had a bunch of clowns out there. It was fun, anytime you go out there and try to get better.”
All Garoppolo would say was there were “just a couple receivers” working out with him California.
“I was out in California throwing,” Garoppolo said. “Got to have some nice weather out there. It was nice, a little changeup, but it’s nice to be back here, missed the guys, missed the team and everything.”
Garoppolo’s offseason work appears to have paid off based on Friday’s OTA session. Garoppolo was sharp while splitting reps with starting quarterback Tom Brady.
