All 15 Home Teams Win On Same Night For First Time In MLB History

Be it ever so humble, there was no place like home for 15 teams Tuesday night.

For the first time in Major League Baseball history, the hosts claimed a clean 15-0 sweep over the visitors. It took extra innings in Seattle, Miami and Cleveland, but eventually the home teams got it done. It was the best single day for home squads since May 23, 1914, when all 12 teams in the three major leagues were victorious, according to the Elias Sports Bureau via MLB.com.

Austin Jackson’s walk-off single lifted the Mariners over the Baltimore Orioles and kept the hosts perfect. It was one of three walk-off victories, including heroics by the Indians’ Michael Brantley and the Marlins’ Justin Bour.

The last time fans were able to root, root, root for every home team in victory was Sept. 16, 1989, when home teams went 11-0.

What does it all mean? Probably nothing. But it is kind of neat.
