Flip Saunders’ death Sunday prompted an outpouring of condolences from around the basketball world.

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge paid his respects to the Minnesota Timberwolves coach in a statement released by the team.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Flip Saunders,” Ainge said. “He was an outstanding coach who always got the most out of his teams. He was always a well-respected opponent. Flip dedicated so much of his life to basketball and the NBA. His life has impacted so many. May God bless his wife Debbie, their children, and extended family. He will be missed greatly by our small NBA community.”

Several Celtics players also took to social media to share their feelings on the longtime coach’s passing.

Saunders, who lost a battle with Hodgkin lymphoma, was 60 years old.
