The New England Patriots won’t go into their Week 6 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts with just two offensive tackles.

The Patriots plan to promote offensive tackle Cameron Fleming from the practice squad to their active roster Saturday, according to a source. It’s unknown who the Patriots will release to make room for Fleming.

Fleming will provide depth at the position behind Sebastian Vollmer and Marcus Cannon. Patriots starting left tackle Nate Solder was placed on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday with a torn biceps.

The Patriots selected Fleming in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Stanford. He appeared in seven games last season, starting two, but was released on Sept. 6. He signed to the practice squad one day later.

Fleming played 29 snaps in last season’s AFC Championship Game against the Colts. He was used as a sixth offensive lineman and helped the Patriots gain 177 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 40 carries in the 45-7 win.
