Dwight Howard Sinks Backward Full-Court Shot At Rockets Shootaround (Video)

Dwight Howard’s free-throw shooting finally has improved.

That might be the case if he was allowed to shoot from his own team’s free-throw line, facing his own hoop.

Howard hit a trick shot for the ages Sunday at a Houston Rockets pregame shootaround. He was standing at the far end of the court with his back to the hoop when he shot the ball underhanded … and made it. Thankfully, plenty of reporters and cameras were on hand to witness Howard’s trick shot.

Howard, 30, has made 57.1 percent of the free-throw attempts he has taken during his 12-year NBA career. Maybe he should adopt the new technique, lobby for Howard-specific rules or both to raise that figure in the most spectacular of ways.
