Apparently Conor McGregor and Jesus are back on speaking terms.
Before McGregor’s UFC 194 knockout of Jose Aldo in December, the featherweight champion told TMZ that if he faced Jesus Christ in the octagon he’d “whoop his ass.” McGregor, of course, seemingly believes he’s the real son of God every time he opens his mouth.
Wednesday’s press conference for UFC 197, where he’ll move up a division and face lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, was no exception.
McGregor has gone full Kanye West at this point — you know, interrupting people with microphones and claiming he’s a god.
His reaction in the video above followed dos Anjos answering a question about his faith.
“I’m just a single tool in Jesus’ hand,” dos Anjos said. “On March 5, he will see what a single tool in Jesus’ hand can do with him.”
We doubt McGregor really cares is Jesus is dos Anjos’ king. As Kanye would say: “What’s a king to a god?”
