Vin Scully Casually Roasts Ryan Howard After Slugger Ties Joe DiMaggio

Ryan Howard and Joe DiMaggio don’t even belong in the same sentence.

Many Major League Baseball fans would agree with that sentiment, but legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully took things to another level over the weekend after Howard blasted his 361st career home run, tying him with DiMaggio for 81st on the all-time home run list.

Scully was surgical in his takedown of Howard, pointing out the Philadelphia Phillies first baseman’s knack for striking out in comparison to DiMaggio, who rarely whiffed during his 13-year Hall of Fame career with the New York Yankees. It was a casual roast. But it was a roast, nonetheless.

Even at 88 years old, Scully still is sharp as a tack.
