Report: Malcolm Mitchell Skips NFL Rookie Premiere To Learn Patriots Playbook

It seems Malcolm Mitchell caught on to the “Patriot Way” pretty quickly.

The Patriots rookie wide receiver put team obligations over individual opportunities by skipping the NFLPA Rookie Premiere to stay in New England to learn his playbook, The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin reported Thursday. Mitchell was the only expected attendee out of 41 invitees to skip the event, which takes place in Los Angeles. Rookies take photos for Panini football cards and meet with brands for potential endorsement deals at the voluntary event. Mitchell was the only Patriots player invited.

The Patriots selected Mitchell in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He had already dived into his playbook before meeting with the media last week.
