BOSTON — Al Horford is the newest member of the Boston Celtics, and after making his official introduction at a Friday press conference, he made his first public appearance at Fenway Park before the Red Sox took on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Horford threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Celtics’ new power forward also is friends with Red Sox slugger and fellow Dominican Republic native David Ortiz, who caught the pitch.
Horford signed a four-year, $113 million contract with the Celtics as a free agent. He spent his first nine pro seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.
