The greatest Boston Bruin of them all unsurprisingly is a big fan of the current team — especially their head coach.

Bobby Orr, like so many around New England, has watched and admired as the Bruins have dominated their opponents this season. And he’s been particularly impressed with Bruce Cassidy, who has led the B’s through a recent deluge of injuries.

Here’s what Orr said about Cassidy ahead of the Bruins’ game against the Florida Panthers on Thursday, per Boston Sports Journal’s Joe McDonald:

“He’s a Bruin,” Orr told McDonald. “I think he’s done a great job. Watching him from afar, his coaching style, obviously the players like him and that’s half the battle. They want to play for him and that’s what it’s all about.

“Put it all together, they have injuries now, but they find a way to win. It’s unbelievable. Guys have been out and he finds a way to win. He’s the boss back there and he’s pulling the strings and he’s doing a great job.”

When informed of Orr’s remarks, Cassidy replied, “That’s the ultimate compliment.”

Agreed.

As for the Bruins’ chances of making a deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Orr is optimistic.

“If they get everybody back healthy, they’re going to be dangerous,” he told McDonald.

No. 4 was a busy man Thursday. He watched the game with injured defenseman Zdeno Chara, who honored the Bruins legend with an excellent Instagram post Friday morning.
