Coming off a national championship, it was only fitting that Boston University would be considered the favorite to start the Hockey East season. And all 10 of the conference's coaches agreed, choosing Boston University as the preseason favorite in college hockey's most competitive conference.
After a season in which they won every tournament and championship possible, the Terriers begin the 2009-10 season as the team to beat in Hockey East. The Hockey East coaches released their preseason poll at the Hockey East Media Day on Wednesday and sitting atop the poll was Jack Parker's club, coming off a school-record 36-win season.
Here is a look at the entire preseason poll:
1. Boston University
2. UMass Lowell
3. Boston College
4. New Hampshire
5. Vermont
6. Northeastern
7. Massachusetts
8. Maine
9. Providence
10. Merrimack
