CC Sabathia Set to Start Game 4 of ALCS on Short Rest The Yankees and Angels were able to get in Games 1 and 2 of the ALCS as scheduled despite a considerable amount of inclement weather, allowing Joe Girardi to stick with his plan of using a three-man rotation for the series.

Girardi announced on Sunday that CC Sabathia will start Game 4 of the championship series in Los Angeles on Tuesday on three days' rest.

“He’s had success going on short rest if you look at last year’s numbers, so we’re comfortable doing it,” Girardi told the media on a conference call.

Sabathia earned the win in the Yankees' 4-1 win in Game 1 of the series on Friday. Sabathia pitched eight innings, allowing four hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out seven for his second win in as many starts this postseason.
