Joe West Assigned as Crew Chief for Red Sox-Angels ALDS

The umpiring crew have been assigned to playoff series by Major League Baseball, and playoff veteran Joe West will be the crew chief when the Red Sox and Angels open up their American League Divisional Series, according to MLB.com's Noah Coslov's Twitter page.

"Cowboy Joe" will be joined by C.B. Bucknor, Eric Cooper, Greg Gibson, Brian Gorman and Dan Iassogna. Playoff series have six umpires — one at each base and one on each foul line in the outfield.

West has a playoff history with the Red Sox, umpiring the 2004 ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees.
