It's not exactly earth-shattering news, but Yankees manager Joe Girardi told his ace CC Sabathia that he will start Game 1 of the ALDS, the New York Daily News reports.

The Yankees have yet to announce which ALDS series they will choose since they have until one hour after the Twins-Tigers one-game playoff on Tuesday to make their selection, but according to the Daily News, Girardi informed Sabathia he will be pitching on Wednesday.

Sabathia finished the season at 19-8 with a 3.37 ERA in 34 starts, logging 230 innings. He was 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA against the Twins in one start and 1-1 with a 2.40 ERA against the Tigers in two starts. Sabathia went 7-2 with a 3.17 ERA in 15 starts in Yankee Stadium.
