As if four straight losses weren't bad enough for the Giants, the G-Men could lose another defensive player for the entire season.

After getting defensive players Michael Boley and Chris Canty back in the team's loss to San Diego on Sunday, linebacker Gerris Wilkinson suffered a dislocated right wrist  and now his season may be over, the New York Daily News reports.

Wilkinson underwent surgery on Tuesday morning, according to the Giants, to repair the dislocation. The surgery took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, and the recovery time is expected to be 6-8 weeks.

The Giants have eight weeks remaining in the regular season, which would likely mean Wilkinson would have to miss the rest of the season.

With the Giants having a bye this week, the team does not need to make an immediate decision on Wilkinson a roster move, or the placing of Wilkinson on season-ending injured reserve won't need to take place until after Week 10.
