EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Veteran assistant Robert Nunn has been hired to coach the New York Giants' defensive line.

Coach Tom Coughlin announced Wednesday that Nunn would be joining the staff as a replacement for Mike Waufle, who was fired after the season.

Nunn has spent the last 10 seasons in the NFL. The 22-year coaching veteran was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive-line coach last season.

Prior to that, he spent four years coaching the defensive tackles for the Green Bay Packers. Nunn broke into the NFL as a defensive assistant with Miami, where he spent three seasons. He spent the following year in Washington before returning to the Dolphins for one year.

The hiring of Nunn comes a week after the Giants named former Buffalo interim coach Perry Fewell as their new defensive coordinator.
