Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia, who missed Sunday's contest with a sore knee, is penciled back into the lineup for Monday's tilt with starter Phil Hughes and the Yankees in New York.

Pedroia, who tweaked his knee in a play at the plate on Saturday night in Detroit but remained in the contest, is hitless in 11 career at bats against Hughes.

While Hughes (5-0, 1.38 ERA) has been red-hot this season for the Bronx Bombers, there's a handful of Sox hitters with pretty good success against him. J.D. Drew, hitting in the No. 3 hole Monday night, is 4-for-6 with a double, triple, and four walks. David Ortiz is 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Victor Martinez is 3-for-5 and Kevin Youkilis is 3-for-10 with a homer and four RBIs.

Hughes is coming off his second scoreless outing in his last three starts, as he allowed just five hits over seven frames in last Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Tigers. He struck out eight and walked one.

Below is the Sox lineup:

Marco Scutaro, SS (3-for-12 career against Hughes)
Dustin Pedroia, 2B (0-for-11)
J.D. Drew, RF (4-for-6)
Kevin Youkilis, 1B (3-for-10)
Victor Martinez, C (3-for-5)
David Ortiz, DH (3-for-4)
Adrian Beltre, 3B (0-for-7, four Ks)
Jeremy Hermida, LF (0-for-3)
Darnell McDonald, CF (1-for-3)

And here's who the Red Sox will be doing battle against:

Derek Jeter, SS
Brett Gardner, CF
Mark Teixeira, 1B
Alex
Rodriguez, DH
Robinson Cano, 2B
Francisco Cervelli, C
Marcus
Thames, RF
Randy Winn, LF
Ramiro Pena, 3B
