Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan is tweaking his car to avoid getting swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle on Saturday.
Ragan will make his sixth career start at Pocono Raceway — a track known for three tricky turns — in Sunday’s Pocono 500 in Long Pond, Pa.
"Pocono is a tough track and is unlike anywhere else on the circuit," Ragan said. "It’s got very different corners that make setting up your car difficult."
Crew chief Donnie Wingo gave more insight into how the race car’s settings will affect his driver’s run at Pocono.
"It’s a track where you have three very different turns and some long straightaways, so it allows us to try a lot of different aspects when it comes to a car’s setup," Wingo said. "Handling, horsepower and fuel mileage all are big factors when it comes to having a successful race at Pocono."
Despite the difficult driving conditions, Ragan is looking forward to returning to Roush Fenway country.
"The good part is it’s always fun to see some of the fans from the Northeast come out to see us race," Ragan said.
