Just days after being released by the Red Sox, relief pitcher Boof Bonser was picked up by the Oakland A's, according to Ken Rosenthal.

Bonser had spent the majority of the season on the disabled list and refused a minor league assignment and became a free agent.

He allowed four runs in just two appearances during his brief Red Sox career this summer.
