Jerry Remy, Red Sox Nation Agree on Adrian Beltre as Top Dawg of the Week A couple of weeks ago, the fans and Jerry Remy agreed for the first time on who should be the Top Dawg of the Week. Well, the votes are in and Jerry’s made his choice and both like Adrian Beltre this week.

The third baseman continued his incredible season this week, despite missing Sunday’s game with a wrist injury.

Beltre’s successful week actually started last week, but he’s continued to thrive and is currently enjoying a nine-game hitting streak. That streak gained some steam this week, a week in which Beltre hit an eye-poping .421. He also hit his 28th homer of the season on Wednesday, a majestic shot against his former team, the Mariners.

Those numbers were good enough for Jerry and almost 62 percent of voters to give the nod to Beltre.

Beltre edged out shortstop Marco Scutaro for Top Dawg honors this week. Scutaro continues to deliver for the Red Sox despite being plagued by a nagging shoulder injury.
