Red Sox Send Veteran-Laden Lineup Against Freddy Garcia and White Sox

A day after being officially eliminated from postseason consideration the Red Sox will boast a veteran-heavy lineup in the third of four games in Chicago.

Each of the first six hitters in the Boston batting order are at least 30, with rookie Ryan Kalish, who is batting eighth and playing center field, the only one below 26 years of age.

Second baseman Marco Scutaro is in the leadoff spot after taking a rare day off in Tuesday's 5-4 loss. It's a good time for Scutaro to return — he is 5-for-9 with a pair of doubles against Chicago starter Freddy Garcia.

The rest of the lineup is a combined 22-for-89 (.247) with three home runs against Garcia.

With Josh Beckett on the mound for Boston in his final start of the season, here are the lineups for both teams:
