Mike Lowell's injured ribs may be getting some relief, as the Red Sox are calling up first-base prospect Lars Anderson from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Anderson has been a top-100 prospect for the past three years according to Baseball America, and has played very well for the PawSox of late — batting .296 since the Triple-A All-Star break.

After being drafted by the Sox in the 18th round of the 2006 draft, Anderson tore up A-ball for two seasons before slumping in Double-A Portland in 2009. This year, though, he showed significant improvement, earning a promotion to Pawtucket and now to the majors.
