After missing out on a couple of different bullpen options, the Red Sox are setting their sights on a reunion of sorts to add some pitching depth.

According to WEEI’s Rob Bradford, the Red Sox have come to terms with left-handed pitcher Lenny DiNardoon a minor league split deal. DiNardo and the Red Sox are reportedly just waiting for the results of an MRI to finalize the deal.

DiNardo, of course, pitched for the Red Sox during the 2004-06 seasons, seeing time on the mound as both a reliever and a starter. In his time with the Sox, DiNardo appeared in 43 games, posting a 5.51 ERA.

The left-hander’s best season came in 2007 when pitching for the Oakland Athletics when DiNardo went 8-10 with a 4.11 ERA with the majority of his 113 1/3 innings coming as a starter. DiNardo’s pitching coach that year was new Sox pitching coach Curt Young.

DiNardo last pitched in the majors in 2009 for the Royals.
