Goaltender Tim Thomas has been nothing short of outstanding for the Bruins so far this season, and it’s no surprise that he has been named to ECAC Hockey’s list of the Top 50 All-Time Players for his performance at the University of Vermont.

Much like what he’s doing right now in Boston, Thomas put on a show at Vermont. Thomas ranks first or second in all major goaltending categories at Vermont and holds the Catamounts’ single-season record for most saves (1,079) and minutes played (2,254). Thomas also holds UVM career records for minutes played (8,286), saves (3,950) and wins (81).

He was also named the Ken Dryden ECAC Goalie of the Year in 1996, the same year he led the Catamounts to their first Frozen Four appearance. He has also earned various awards from both the ECAC and the NCAA throughout his four years in Burlington.

This list is being released as part of ECAC’s 50th anniversary. Five players in the Top 50 will be named every two weeks throughout the season.
