Is Zdeno Chara the Most Important Player on the Bruins? The Bruins were without their big man on Saturday night in Boston as captain Zdeno Chara missed Game 2 of the quarterfinal matchup with the Canadiens due to a stomach virus.

Without Big Z manning the blue line for 30-plus minutes, the B's fell to the Habs 3-1 and gave their rivals a 2-0 series lead as the two teams head to Montreal for Game 3 on Monday night.

Is Chara the most important player on this Bruins team?

Fans may rightfully argue that netminder Tim Thomas is, but The Tank happens to have a pretty reliable backup in Tuukka Rask. As for Chara's replacement? After all, this is the captain we're talking about.

With such a deep offense and no true go-to goal scorer, it can be argued that no one forward takes the cake as the team's most important cog. While Patrice Bergeron is the straw that stirs this offense, does that make him the most important player on this team?
