Judgement Day May 21 on Brad Marchand's Mind, Just Hopes Bruins Are Leading When Apocalypse Comes TAMPA — Athletes are often criticized for their lack of perspective on life outside of the games they play for a living, looking upon losses as the end of the world.

But with some religious fanatics predicting that the real end of the world will come this Saturday, at least one Bruin has things in proper perspective.

When asked about the potential apocalypse this weekend by Boston Herald columnist Steve Buckley, Bruins rookie winger Brad Marchand admitted he wasn't familiar with the story, but quickly quipped to the media assembled around his locker room stall, "It's been nice knowing you guys."

A bemused Marchand stated he doesn't plan to change anything in his routine leading up to the possible end of days.

"I'm probably going to practice in the morning," Marchand said of his plans for Friday. "Probably sleep for a bit in the afternoon, maybe watch a movie I'll take it pretty easy. Enjoy life, you know?"

Even if that's the last day before the end of life on Saturday?

"I don't expect it to be the last day, so I'm just going to live it as a normal day," Marchand said while struggling to maintain a straight face. "If Saturday is going to be the last day on earth, I'm not going to be able to do anything about it. I'm not going to know. It's just going to happen, so it won't bother me."

Marchand does have other plans for Saturday, with the Bruins scheduled to take on the Lightning in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final in Tampa that afternoon.

"It would be a great way to kind of end the world on a high note and in the lead," Marchand said. "Get the win [Thursday], and we'll be able to die happy people."

And if the Bruins were to be losing when the world ends on Saturday?

"It won't matter anyways," Marchand said. "No one's going to know anyway. I'd much rather die in the lead though."
