Will Ferrell Shaves Conan O'Brien's Beard, But Bruins Have No Plans to Stop Growing Playoff Beards With the Bruins taking a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Flyers, one thing has become certain. The B’s won’t be shaving their playoff beards for at least another week. Hopefully, it takes even longer than that.

And while the Boston beards remain safe for the time being, the same could not be said for late-night TV host Conan O’Brien. His facial hair was sabotaged on Monday night by none other than Will Ferrell, someone who has dabbled in the past with a pretty gnarly beard himself.

Many credit the New York Islanders of the 1980s with starting the idea of playoff beards. It’s a tradition that continues up until this day, and the Bruins are obviously fully committed to it as well.

Patrice Bergeron is one of the early clubhouse leaders for the club’s best beard, on the Bruins, but he and his mates have a long ways to go in terms of both beards and team success to catch up to some of the game’s best beards in playoff history. Because as you see below, the easiest way to playoff beard immortality is to hoist the Cup.
