Who Will Be the Amica Pitcher of the Week This Week? Andrew Miller's first start in a Red Sox uniform Monday night comes with a lot of pressure. Over the weekend, John Lackey, Jon Lester and Tim Wakefield each threw eight innings as the Sox took two of three from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Lackey, who gave up four runs over eight innings, struck out five and did not surrender a walk. The following night, Lester grinded out eight tough innings in a 4-2 loss. Sunday, following a Boston Bruins celebration and a six-run first-inning, Wakefield shined yet again, throwing eight innings and improving to 4-1 in his last five starts.

The Red Sox continue interleague play with a three-game set against the San Diego Padres starting Monday night. Miller, drafted sixth overall in 2006 by Detroit, struggled last season with the Florida Marlins in his last MLB stint. Miller has pitched close to 300 innings in his MLB career, but has an ERA of 5.84.

With the injury to Clay Buchholz, Miller has another chance to prove he is ready to stay in the majors. The 6-foot-7 lefty has regained his control in Pawtucket and the Red Sox are anxious to see if it will carry over into Monday.

Josh Beckett gets the call Tuesday against the Padres' Mat Latos. Lackey will throw Wednesday in the final game of the series.
