In either an attempt to secure their potential starting pitching issues or to try and drive up the price for the New York Yankees, it appears the Red Sox are in on the chase for Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez.

According to CBSsports.com, the Red Sox have inquired about the 27-year-old, although it's unclear how serious the inquiries are at this point. With Clay Buchholz still out injured, the Red Sox are wondering whether or not they need to be searching for a starter.

The rumors with the Yankees are well known, but it's unknown if either AL East power has enough to offer Colorado in exchange for Jimenez. According to the report, the Reds and Rangers could be dark horses to obtain the righty's services.
