The New England Revolution entered Wednesday's match against the Philadelphia Union with a six match winless streak. The Revs looked poised to snap that streak, jumping out to a 4-1 lead, but the Union stormed back to play them to a 4-4 draw.
New England got off to a 3-0 lead after 26 minutes of play behind goals from A.J. Soares, Rajko Lekic and Moncef Zerka. Roger Torres then put the Union on the board two minutes later, but Benny Feilhaber quickly got the goal back with a tally in the 34th minute.
The Revs were in the driver's seat as the two teams headed into the intermission, but Philadelphia took over in the second half.
Freddy Adu got the second-half scoring going with a goal in the 54th minute. Although New England still had the luxury of a 4-2 cushion, Philadelphia kept fighting, eventually pulling to within one on a penalty-kick goal by Sebastien Le Toux in the 80th minute.
Le Toux wasn't satisfied with just a moral victory, though, and netted the equalizer a minute into stoppage time.
With the tie, each team remains winless over its last seven games. The Revs are now 0-2-5 in their last seven, while Philadelphia is 0-3-4.
