Cubs Nation Among Sports Fans' 99 Percent, Hoping Theo Epstein Can Reverse Curse in Chicago
Once upon a time, a young man named Theo Epstein traded away a franchise corner piece in Nomar Garciaparra on his way to ending an 86-year-old curse.

No pressure, but Cubs fans kind of want him to do the exact same thing.

Epstein, now in Chicago after leaving the Red Sox, is tasked with the unenviable duty of trying to win a championship for a team that hasn't done so since 1908. As cartoonist Will O'Toole points out in the image above, the Cubs are part of the sports world's 99 percent.

Since graduating from Seton Hall University, Will O'Toole has been doing cartoons for over 30 years for a number of papers (USA Today), magazines (College and Pro Football Weekly) and websites ( He is believed to be the only national cartoonist to have voted for the Heisman Trophy and the Wooden and Naismith Awards.
