Which Team Will Be the Worst in Baseball This Year? It's true of every major sport: there are some teams that are very, very good, and others that are really, really bad.

Minnesota has unfortunately looked more like the latter through the first two games of their series against the Red Sox and pretty much all season long.

The Twins are 5-13 on the year, which would be give them the worst record in baseball if the Kansas City Royals weren't in the midst of a particularly brutal losing streak.

Looking across the major league landscape, a few teams stand out with particularly bleak prospects less than a month into a new season. The Royals, for example, were considered a dark horse candidate for the second Wild Card spot after experts foresaw breakout seasons for some of their younger prospects. Instead, K.C. has stumbled out of the gate and ended up on the losing end of 12 straight games at last count.

Across in the National League, things don't look much better for a few of the bottom-dwellers on the Senior Circuit. Houston has picked up right where it left off last season (in last place) while Theo Eptein's rebuilding project at Wrigley certainly is a work in progress. Out on the Left Coast, Adrian Gonzalez's old team in San Diego is likewise struggling to gain any traction in the usually competitive NL West.

It's certainly still early in the season and there's plenty of time left for teams to make comebacks, rally or collapse as the year wears on. At first glance, however, does anyone stand out to you as the most hopeless?
