Oklahoma City Construction Workers Paint 23-Foot Tall 'Thunder Up' on Highway Outside Team's ArenaEvery city has a different way of showing pride for its own sports teams.

In Boston, they light up the Prudential Center windows to spell "Go Sox." In New York, they might fire up the Empire State Building's lights with a team's colors. In Oklahoma City –maybe because they don't have the same skyscrapers other cities do — they paint highways.

Construction workers took the time to paint "Thunder Up" in 23-foot tall letters on the old I-40 right outside of Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Thunder's home stadium.

Don't worry, though, the bridge was closed for repairs long before it was comandeered for cheerleading.

With LeBron James and the Miami Heat in town for the first two games of the NBA Finals, Kevin Durant and company will probably have all the support they can manage from fans rooting against Miami's superteam in favor of OKC's boys.

It paid off in Game 1 with a victory, so what will they paint next? There must only be so many buildings in Oklahoma City.
