But not Nathan Horton. Despite missing significant time last year after his second concussion in seven months, Horton is reportedly no longer on the road to recovery — he’s ready to play.
“Nathan is healthy and ready for the season to start,” said Horton’s agent, Paul Krepelka, according to ESPNBoston.com. “Has been for a while now. He’s ready to go and has been ready to go.”
Horton was first hurt when he took a hard hit on the open ice in Game 3 of the 2011 Stanley Cup finals, a blow that sparked the Bruins’ capturing the Cup. Horton missed the rest of that series but came back for the next season and played 46 games before getting a second concussion. Despite his efforts to return for Boston’s next playoff stretch, he was still having trouble in his recovery as last season wound down.
He appears to be all better now, though, and Bruins fans can look forward to seeing him soon — if only the league could get its act together, too.
