N.C. State Baseball’s Brett Williams’ Diving Grab Earns Catch of the Year Nomination (Video)

Brett Williams looks pretty mobile for a guy who recently came off the shelf from a torn ACL.

The N.C. State centerfielder went viral this week after he robbed a New Mexico State batsman in what many are calling the “catch of the year” — albeit only February.

He’s not just dazzling with the leather, either, as he’s reached base in 15 of his last 18 at-bats, dating back to last Saturday, according to GoPack.com. As if the catch wasn’t enough, he also pieced together a 2-for-3 day at the dish with three RBIs.

Six games into his return from a torn ACL, he’s batting .458 with three homers and four doubles.
