Floyd Mayweather Jr. Defeats Robert Guerrero in Unanimous 12-Round Decision to Improve to 44-0 (Video)


Floyd Mayweather Jr. is still undefeated.

The welterweight champ beat contender Robert Guerrero in a unanimous 12-round decision on Saturday night. It was Mayweather’s first bout in a year.

The three judges scored the fight 117-111. Guerrero hadn’t lost a match in eight years.

Mayweather said he was looking for the knockout, but he hurt his hand midfight, according to the Associated Press. Mayweather’s scheme was all about defense in the bout in front of 15,880.

Mayweather is planning to fight again in September. He took home a record $32 million purse for the match against Guerrero. He’s also earning 90 percent of the total income of the fight.

The 36-year-old fighter connected on 60 percent of his power punches. Mayweather was credited with landing 195 punches, while Guerrero connected on 113.
