A group of hockey players are going to make their old history teacher’s very happy on Sunday.

The Bakersfield Condors, a team in the ECHL, is taking a minor league promotional jersey night to new heights, capturing a defining moment in our nation’s history and slapping it on their sweaters.

The affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers unveiled the jerseys that they will wear to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln‘s Gettysburg Address and they’re historically awesome.

Complete with a canon, a large black-and-white depiction of Honest Abe and something they didn’t have in 1863 — a Bud Light advertisement — the fronts of the sweaters pack an entire history lesson on the limited space. The backs continue the trend, with the famous opening of the speech, “Four score and seven years ago,” sprawled above the player’s names and a scene from the Battle of Gettysburg is illustrated on the bottom.

Check out the sweaters history buffs will be swooning over below, with a fist bump to SportsLogos.
