The famous game show “Jeopardy” is a place for people to show their intelligence to a large television audience and win some cash. But as we’ve seen many times, it also can provide some embarrassing moments.
The following sports question appeared on a recent episode, and a contestant named Joe was the first to buzz in to answer.
Instead of giving the obvious answer of Wayne Gretzky, Joe said NBA legend and Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson. In fairness, Johnson was one of basketball’s most exciting players, largely because of his highlight-reel assists on the fast break, but as far as hockey questions go, it doesn’t get much easier than this. There’s only one logical answer.
Even if Joe had no idea which player to say, you never can go wrong giving Gretzky as an answer to any hockey-related question. After all, the “Great One” owns over 50 NHL records. The odds are in your favor.
Check out the video below to watch Joe’s answer, and for show host Alex Trebek’s awesome reaction.
