Roy Halladay Gushes About Chase Utley In Series Of Heartfelt Tweets

Chase Utley’s No. 1 fan is Roy Halladay, and it isn’t even close.

On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Utley had won the Philadelphia Phillies Heart and Hustle Award for the fifth time in his career. The award, which is voted on by active as well as former players, is given to a player on each team who “demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game.”

Utley presumabl felt pretty flattered upon hearing the news, but we’re guessing his level of blushing only increased after he saw the online love letter his former teammate had written for him on Twitter.

Halladay posted a series of nine tweets, detailing how great of a human being Utley is and encouraging everyone to “be like Chase.”

That 140-character limit is no problem when you disregard it completely. But the display of brotherly love might just be the best part of the Phillies’ season, so soak it all in, Philadelphia.

Besides, this isn’t the first time someone has gushed over Utley in a written format, as Mac from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” will always hold the title of author of best love letter to the 35-year-old.
