The Lowell Spinners had better be ready to spend a lot of next spring on a bus.
The Boston Red Sox’ Single A short-season affiliate will begin the 2015 season with a six-game road trip, before returning home for a three-game series. In all, 14 of the Spinners’ first 18 games will be played away from LeLacheur Park.
The Spinners on Friday released their schedule and announced that season tickets were available for their 20th season. Single-game tickets and mini plans are not yet being sold.
“It may be 135 days until the home opener at LeLacheur Park, but we are looking at it as just 135 days until Spinners baseball is back in Lowell,” Spinners president and general manager Tim Bawmann said via the team’s website.
The road-heavy early season schedule evens out in mid-July, when the Spinners will play 15 of 28 games at home.
